Starting on 27 March and covering 480nm, the 2013 edition of the biennial Hong Kong – San Fernando race produced yet more race success for Doyle customers.
Competing boats that had full Doyle inventories included Geoff Hill's Santa Cruz 72 Antipodes, who won the treble of Line Honours, First in IRC 0 and First IRC Overall. In IRC 2, Anthony Root's well campaigned A-35 Red Kite 2 won their division for the third year in a row. Also, Peter Churchouse's lovely Warwick 65 Moonblue 2 took out the honours in the Premier Cruising division. Meanwhile, the Mills 41 EFG Bank Mandrake won IRC 1, with a partial Doyle inventory. Congratulations to all the skippers and crew, for their great results, and thank you for your continued support of Doyle Sailmakers.
Our own Andy Pilcher joined Ant Day and crew on his lovely Xc-50 Explorer. His race report was published on Sailing Anarchy and can be read here.
As well as producing a fun event, in beautiful surroundings, the race has also supported the Home of Loving Faithfulness Youth Shelter in San Fernando for over 20 years, which is a very worthy cause.
